What is ZAM Steel?
ZAM steel (ZAM-Coated Steel) is an alloy of steel with zinc, aluminum, and magnesium, developed to meet the demands of 21st-century product lines. Its coating consists of aluminum and magnesium, with a precise composition of 6% aluminum and 3% magnesium, significantly enhancing durability. As a result, ZAM steel offers superior corrosion resistance compared to galvanized steel and Galvalume steel.

The name ZAM is derived from the initials of its key components: Zinc (Zn), Aluminum (Al), and Magnesium (Mg).
Technical Specifications:
- Thickness: Commonly available in 0.25mm, 0.8mm, 1.0mm, 1.2mm, 1.5mm, and 2.0mm. Other thicknesses can be produced upon customer request.
- Width: Ranges from 750mm to 1250mm.
- Length: Customizable based on customer requirements – can be cut to the desired size.
- Durability: High strength, resistant to pressure, tension, and strong winds.
- Color: Bright and shiny, retains color for a long time.
Outstanding Features:
1. Developed to enhance corrosion resistance in environments where steel is easily degraded.
2. Coated with a thinner layer that offers better protection than conventional paint.
3. Offers numerous advantages over other protective coatings:
- Longer lifespan
- Lower maintenance costs
- Lighter coating weight compared to other metallic coatings
- Reduced cost
- Environmentally friendly
Applications:
1. Manufacturing of components and structures in the shipbuilding industry, including ship footings, superstructures, and other parts.
2. Used in the production of high-wear surfaces for automotive and electronic equipment manufacturing.
3. Due to its excellent corrosion resistance, ZAM is used in the chemical industry for tanks and chemical processing equipment.
4. Commonly used in construction for structural housing materials, corrugated sheets, soundproofing materials in electronics, air conditioners, containers, cable trays, traffic signs, power supply materials, electrical cabinets, cable ladders, agricultural materials, Greenhouses, and various agricultural equipment.
